Also, be sure to visit the 2018 Bayou City Arts Festival featured artist, Lisa Telling Kattenbraker. Lisa composes visual, emotive story pieces using the batik method. Batik is a printing process originally devised in Java. Colorful textile designs are created using wax and dye. Her work will be on display in the primary area of the festival.
Live music at the festival begins on Friday with modern brass musician Zachary Lerner. On Saturday, country blues band RKN will open the day’s events with their unique blend of Texas music. There are “roving musicians” throughout the festival including The Traveling Pianist, Rock ‘N Roll Mariachis, and CORE Performance Company.
International Food and Wine
Also, sixteen of Houston’s best food trucks will be at the festival food court. With everything from Asian fusion to fresh seafood tacos, you will definitely find something delicious! The art bar will feature cold Stella Artois on tap, craft beer, and wine.
