If you love sushi, then you know how exciting it is to visit and try a new sushi place. A fun new place to try in Houston is Kubo’s Sushi & Washoku. The word “washoku” refers collectively to Japanese food, and as this suggests, the restaurant serves a wide array of delicious Japanese dishes, including sushi. It’s just a short drive from Tiburon Apartments, so you can swing by for a delicious meal after work.
About Kobu’s Sushi & Washoku
Kubo’s has a simple interior with a lot of light wood accents. Rather than overwhelming the space with decor, the restaurant encourages you to focus on the food and the artfulness with which it is prepared. Watch the talented chefs as they slice fish and shape intricate sushi rolls. The long counter that they work behind is well-lit with natural light from the windows, giving the space a sense of freshness. Feel free to sit at the long table in front of the bar for a front-row view. Alternatively, choose a smaller table for a more intimate experience.
Start off your meal with one of the specialty rolls. Try the “Golden Roll,” a roll made with smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese, salmon and tobiko. The “Washington Roll,” made with spicy tuna, avocado, crunchy breadcrumbs, eel sauce, and green onion, is another popular choice. If you’re in the mood for something unique, try the Wagyu roll. This roll features wagyu beef with teriyaki sauce, cucumber, avocado, and green onions.
In addition to sushi, the restaurant offers numerous cooked Japanese dishes. Try the salmon apple yaki, which is baked salmon with egg sauce and an apple base. Alternatively, try the wagyu hoba miso yaki. This meal has four ounces of grilled wagyu beef and veggies served with miso sauce.Back to all posts
