Spring into spring in Spring. Can you say that five times fast? If you’re looking for a fun little day trip, drive less than 30 minutes north of Tiburon Apartments to the town of Spring. Stroll down Main Street in Old Town Spring where you can shop in cute boutiques, learn a new skill, and indulge your inner foodie.
Things to Do
Learn how to make a stained-glass project at Cousin’s Glass Art Studio. They will provide all of the tools, materials, and instructions you need to make a gorgeous piece of art that you can take home or give as a gift.
If you’re looking for a challenge, immerse yourself in an adventure at Armadillo Escape Room. This independently owned venue offers four uniquely themed rooms. Three of them have one-hour time limits. The fourth is Christmas themed but has been so popular that the owners decided to continue it. That room will rotate with a Halloween-themed room in the fall.
Relax and enjoy a glass of wine at The Tasting Room. They often host special events such as Chick Flick Fridays and Mimosas with Mom.
Places to Eat
You’d be surprised by how many fantastic and unique dining options there are in a small town like Old Town Spring.
Sip tea like the English at The Tea Kettle Cafe. The lunch menu has a variety of delicious salads and sandwiches. The Blue Giraffe is a quirky coffee house that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as beer, wine, and both cold and hot coffee drinks. Bring your dog and dine on the porch or enjoy live music on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night.
Another great choice for any meal of the day is Ellen’s Cafe. You’ll have to decide between cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, and eggs made however you like them for breakfast. The quiche, wraps, soups, and salads are all tempting for lunch. Dinner options range from enchiladas to spaghetti to New York strip steak. Whatever you do, make sure you save room for dessert. Ellen’s has 12 flavors of ice cream along with several decadent homemade pies, and make sure you order a few slices of fudge to take home.
For lunch or dinner that’s a little more on the fancy side, try The Black Sheep Bistro. Located in a converted house, this cozy restaurant serves fresh seasonal cuisine such as lobster ravioli, sea bass, and filet mignon. Note that strollers and high chairs are not allowed in the dining area, so it’s best to keep this as an adults-only meal.
Shop until You Drop
Stock up on homemade soap at Connie’s Bath Shack and meat rubs at Simply Texas Gourmet Foods. By the way, both make fabulous gifts for family, friends, and coworkers. Browse the rare home decor and pick up something new for your living space at Don Quixote’s or several other antique shops in town. There are many locally owned businesses downtown and you never know what treasures you’ll find.
By no means have we covered every amazing thing to do in Spring. Since it’s just a short drive from Tiburon Apartments, you can explore it as much as you’d like. At the end of the day, you’ll always love coming back to your luxury apartment home at Tiburon. You’ll also be close to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center if you want to keep exploring!
